Maybe you’re like me and it seems like (up until recently!) no matter what you do, how you style your hair, or what products you use – your hair still ends up looking like a frizzy mess. Does this sound familiar to you? If so, keep reading.
I recently (after 33 years of living with my hair) discovered a few tips that have helped my hair from becoming a frizzy mess every day during the humid summer months. Today, I’m going to share them with you!
Deep condition your hair with each wash. I typically leave a deep conditioner In for 5-7 minutes. After your shower, don’t twist or rub your towel through your hair. This can cause breakage and flyaways. Just blot your wet hair with a towel.
Minimize the damage blow drying causes to your hair by washing your hair at night and sleeping on it overnight. Apply a styling cream to help moisturize and wake up with smooth, wavy hair!
ALWAYS use a protectant before heat-styling your hair. Without it, you’re more likely to cause breakage and cuticle damage which leads to frizz!
Stop using so much hairspray. I know, I know, I was using this to help with my flyaways too, but in reality, the alcohol from the hair spray can swell up your hair cuticles, causing frizzines!
I hope these tips help you as much as they have helped me! Working WITH my hair, rather than against it has worked wonders.
